The challenges of today. We live in a world which is increasingly globalized, where great benefits can reach the furthest corners of the globe. At the same time it can be confusing and very challenging for young people. Due to the enormous cultural changes and the interruption of the traditional transmission of values, many young people are falling into problems because they do not understand the universal values and how to live them. Many of the evils of our societies have their origin in the absence, partial or complete, physical or affective, of their father-figure and therefore an admirable masculine model. Together with the constant bombardment through the media of materialistic messages and anti-values, this lack leads to existential problems and in too many cases these lead in turn to drug addiction, gang violence and irresponsible sex, causing a vicious cycle which undermines many segments of our societies.

Alive to the World® is designed to prepare children and adolescents to develop their innate desire to be worthwhile people with lives of significance by giving them the tools they need to face with optimism daily situations and prepare their futures. In a rapidly changing world young people must learn to manage an increasing number of technological and social stimuli. On the one hand the quantity of ways of connecting virtually with many others which often in fact disconnects them from real relationships. On the other, they must prepare for a world which is more and more open, where this brings enormous possibilities for collective intelligence, empowerment, global consciousness and the possibility for international collaboration. To handle all these, young people need basic values which can give them stability and sound judgement for their own good and that of society.

Alive to the World® uses backward planning and the scaffolding which can lead our girls, boys and adolescents to learn to live their values through synergetic thinking, and acquire for life those values which will dignify their lives and pilot them to happiness and fulfillment.
