History

The PROVIVE team in Venezuela is the heart of this international, interdisciplinary team. PROVIVE was founded in 1982 in Caracas, with the primary objective of working in favor of human life and dignity. The first Presidents were Dr. Miguel Yaber, Dr. Eugenio Debellard and Dr. Jorge Cato. Shortly after, PROVIVE extended its contacts and information to individuals and associations in all of Latin America as an international project called ALAFA, or the Latinamerican Alliance for the Family (1984) under the presidency of Christine Vollmer in Caracas and the coordination of Daniel Zeidler, based in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA.

In 1985, as a result of a session of Strategic Planning through the method of Stanford Research Institute, it was resolved to enter the field of Sex Education and Education in Values. That was the birth of Aprendiendo a Querer or Alive to the World. The first expert consulted was Dr. Rafael Bredy.

After several years of research and international consultation and the construction of the full concept, the first books of the collection began to appear in 1999, authored by Carlos Beltramo y Christine de Marcellus de Vollmer.

Almost immediately books for Primary school followed, authored by June Saunders, Carlos Beltramo and Christine de Vollmer.

First published in Peru by Alafa Ediciones, and from 2001-2011 coordinated by AFF (Alliance for the Family), from 2012 license to publish was given to the Universidad of FASTA, in Buenos Aires; the Universidad Católica de Concepcion, Chile; to Learnex, of Mexico; Novalex, of Guayaquil, Ecuador and Coprodeli, of Lima, Peru, in Spanish. From 2008 the first UK edition, levels 3 to 7, were published by Gracewing.
